The plane descends from the clouds and you look out of the window to see a sparkling shoreline surrounding the shores of a beautiful chain of coastal islands. In 1990, Brunswick and the Golden Isles established itself as one of the premier areas in Georgia when it was ranked the 10th most livable "micropolitan" area in the United States. One of the factors leading to that honor was the accessibility of the area by land, sea and by air. The Glynn County Airport Commission has helped lead the development of the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport and McKinnon St. Simons Airport as doorways to the Golden Isles community.

Through Glynn County's two airports, residents of Brunswick and the Golden Isles have access to the rest of the world right down the street from their homes. Businesses and industries in the area have a major transportation advantage over competitors in less-accessible locations.
